Turning Stone Resort Casino Offers Jobs and Affordable Housing

Turning Stone Resort Casino is looking to add some more staff members to its team in Western New York. Some of the available positions include cooks, chefs, table game dealers and other hospitality workers. But in addition to that, it also offers affordable subsidized housing to its new employees at the said positions, thus earning an advantage in the competition for employees.

The gaming property is owned and operated by the Oneida Indian Nation and it is located at 5218 Patrick Rd, in Verona, New York. The casino offers an immense variety of entertainment options, including gaming, dining, hotel stays, recreation and much more. And since the start of the year, it has recruited over 400 staff members with even more on the way.

Recruiting This Month

Just recently, the upstate New York casino informed that on August 23, 2022, it will recruit new employees. Some of the available positions will include cooks, chefs, table game dealers and other hospitality workers. But in order to stay competitive, the establishment will also offer employee-subsidized housing with rents as low as US$550 per month for the said positions.

Management of the casino said that qualified applicants will be offered a job immediately. In addition to that, its new apartment complex “The Villages at Stoney Creek” is the first-ever employee community facility in the state. It touts over 50 apartments which will be available to new hourly staff members. Each home will be coming with in-unit laundry, parking, utilities, and shuttle service to the casino.

According to the property, subsidize monthly rents start at US$550 per month for one-bedroom apartments, US$650 for two-bedroom ones, and US$750 for three-bedroom dwellings. According to the casino, which utilized data from Rent.com, workers who move from Rochester and Albany can save up to US$8,400 to US$9,000 a year on a one-bedroom apartment, plus the extra savings from zero commuting costs.

Applicants who apply as cooks or table game dealers can earn US$17 to US$20 and US$20 to US$25 per hour respectively. They will also be able to enjoy 401(k), health care and tuition reimbursement. The hiring fair will be held in Albany from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on August 23, 2022, at the Albany Capital Center, 55 Eagle St.

Returning to Regular Operations

Operations at the Verona casino have also been affected by the unprecedented situation. But in December last year, the resort returned to normal as its Exit 33 clubs reopened. Its three amenities Tin Rooster, The Gig and The Atrium Bar were allowed to once again host live shows and entertain patrons. In the announcement, the casino also announced that it will be renaming its “The Turning Stone” buffet to “7 Kitchens.”

In September 2021, the tribal casino once again affirmed its status as one of the state’s best gaming hotspots. The establishment won an impressive 24 awards at the 2021 Gaming Awards by Casino Player Magazine. Some of the categories were Best Overall Gaming Resort, Best Hotel, Best Pool, Best Spa, Best Golf Course, Best Casino, Best Table Games, Best Video Poker, Best Blackjack, Best Bingo, Best Sportsbook Promotions, and Friendliest Sportsbook.
